Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Join a Run Club ("we", "us", "our") is operated by UNA Watch Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits this site or submits information to us, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who We Are

UNA Watch Ltd is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through joinarunclub.com. For any questions or requests, contact us at hello@unawatch.com.

2. Data We Collect

Join a Run Club is a free directory of UK running clubs. We do not offer accounts, take payments, or collect health or fitness data. We collect:

Information you submit — when you submit a club, claim a club, or request an update to a listing, we collect your name, email address, phone number (where provided), and any details you enter in free-text fields (such as a club description, meeting times, or your message).

Technical data — standard server and hosting logs may record your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, used for security and to keep the service running.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information you provide to: publish and maintain club listings in the directory; verify, review and respond to submissions, claims and update requests; contact you about a submission you have made; protect the site against spam, fraud and abuse; and comply with our legal obligations.

4. What Is Published

Listing details you submit (such as club name, location, description and meeting times) are published publicly on the site. Your personal contact details — your email address and phone number — are not published. We use them only to contact you about your submission.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Legitimate interests: operating a public directory, responding to submissions, and keeping the site secure. Consent: where you voluntarily send us information. Legal obligation: where we are required to process or retain data by law.

6. Data Sharing and Processors

We use trusted third parties to run the site: Airtable (database/storage) and Vercel (hosting). They process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements. Where data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place. We do not sell your personal data.

7. Data Retention

We keep submission, claim and update-request data for as long as the related listing is live or as needed to operate the directory, and we will remove it on request. Technical logs are retained for a short period for security purposes.

8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to access your data; to rectify incorrect or outdated data; to request erasure ("right to be forgotten"); to object to or restrict processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@unawatch.com.

9. Data Security

The site is served over HTTPS with security headers in place, and access to submitted data is restricted on a least-privilege basis. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10. Children's Privacy

This directory is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact hello@unawatch.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
